“After seeing my photos for the first time, I realized what others have seen all along.”

When I first met Tara, I could tell immediately she had a beautiful soul. A hardworking, family-oriented woman who is loyal to her friends, she is both a software engineer and long-time Pampered Chef consultant. Needless to say, Tara juggles many plates at once and often gives more than she gets.

So, what made this giver finally decide to give back to herself with a boudoir photo session?

When we asked Tara what inspired her to book her boudoir photo shoot, she told us it was thanks to her friend doing it first:

“I had always wanted to do a photo shoot but never had the guts to do one,” Tara says. “I had seen pictures from a friend of mine’s boudoir shoot and then decided to make that a goal for myself.”

Like many women who come to our studio for the first time, Tara had mixed feelings of excitement and nervousness. Even though following through on this goal would be empowering,  she started to have second thoughts about how it would go:

“As it got closer to the shoot, I was getting more nervous and the morning of my shoot. I nearly canceled because I wasn't happy with how my body was going to look. I have been so extremely self conscious about how I look over the years and didn't think I could go through with it,” she said.

While it’s totally normal to feel nervous as the day of your shoot approaches, you can prepare yourself mentally ahead of time. Tara reached out to me beforehand to share her ideas for the shoot, and I was able to show her some other sites for inspiration as well. From the moment you book your shoot I am available to be a resource for you, and I’m so glad Tara relied on me to help her prepare for her special day.

As your boudoir photographer, my top priority is making you feel comfortable, confident, and beautiful at your shoot, but the experience itself is worth savoring. In fact, one of Tara’s favorite parts of her boudoir photo shoot was having her hair and makeup done by our professional team:

She told us, “The hairstylists and makeup artists perform their craft in such a way that they make you look and feel absolutely amazing. I wish I could take them home with me and have them do my hair and makeup all the time.”

After a long journey of indecision, overcoming her fears, and following through with her commitment to herself, Tara discovered a new vision of herself in her boudoir photos:

“After seeing my photos for the first time I realized what others have seen all along. The reveal brought tears to my eyes because I could not believe that it was me in those photos.

I never considered myself beautiful, and always considered myself an average person. But after seeing my photos, it opened my eyes to see exactly what everyone else has seen in me all along.”

If you’re nervous about booking your boudoir photo shoot for any reason, Tara has some sage advice for you:

“Do it for you! If you are someone like me who had self-esteem and self-confidence issues, those fears and disbeliefs will quickly go away. Amanda will make you feel so comfortable and relaxed during your shoot that you will find yourself laughing halfway through. Once you see the real you through the camera lens and in your photos, you will forget you ever had any self-doubts.”
